What are cookies?
Cookies are small data files that are placed on your computer or mobile device when you visit a website or web application. Cookies are widely used by websites and web applications to make the site or application work more efficiently, as well as to provide reporting information. Cookies do not necessarily identify you if you are merely visiting a website; however, a cookie may store a unique identifier on your computer or mobile device when you register for an event or log in to the system.
Cookies set directly by the website or application you are using are called "first-party cookies". Cookies set by parties other than the website or application are called "third-party cookies". Third-party cookies enable third-party features or functionality to be provided on or through the website (e.g. interactive content, analytics, and advertising). The parties that set these third-party cookies can recognize your computer both when it visits the website, and when it visits certain other websites.
Cookies that remain on your computer or mobile device only during your online session are known as “session cookies”, while cookies that remain on your computer or mobile device after you have closed out your browser are known as “persistent cookies”.
How and why we use cookies
The cookies we use share one goal: To measure and improve all aspects of our service in various ways. We do this by using cookies that are strictly necessary for access and navigation (strictly necessary cookies), as well as cookies that remember your choices (functionality cookies). We specifically do not use cookies that track usage (performance cookies) or that provide targeted content or advertising (other cookies).
We use cookies for the following reasons:
1. Access and Security (Strictly Necessary Cookies)
2. Settings (Functionality Cookies)
3. Analytics and Research (Performance Cookies)
4. Advertising and Marketing (Other Cookies)
What cookies do we use?
We use the following cookies:
1. Strictly Necessary Cookies
These cookies are necessary for the website to function and cannot be switched off in our systems. They are usually only set in response to actions made by you which amount to a request for services, such as setting your privacy preferences, logging in, or filling in forms. You can set your browser to block or alert you about these cookies, but many parts of the site will then not work. These cookies do not store any personally identifiable information.
2. Functionality Cookies
These cookies are only set when you log in to the system and use the “Remember Me” functionality. These cookies do not directly store any personally identifiable information but allow the system to remember your name and email address, so you do not have to re-enter the information when returning to the site.
3. Performance Cookies
4. Other Cookies
What can I do to control how cookies are used?
Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but if you would prefer, you can edit your browser options to block them in the future. The Help portion of the toolbar on most browsers will tell you how to prevent your computer from accepting new cookies, how to have the browser notify you when you receive a new cookie, or how to disable cookies altogether.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Visitors to our application who disable cookies will be able to browse some areas of the site, but many features may not function properly.
For general information about cookies and how to disable them, please visit www.allaboutcookies.org.
