Description:

Scope of Work: Assist clients by bringing them to and from their home to Cultural Orientation.

 

During this class, clients will learn more about living in a new country and receive tools to successfully integrate to U.S. culture and systems.   

 

As a cultural orientation transportation volunteer, you will need to coordinate with clients the day prior to schedule a time to pick them up from their home and transport them back to their home after completion of the course. On average, you will be transporting 1-2 clients. Most clients speak Dari, Farsi, Pashto, and most recently, Spanish. 

 

Cultural orientation falls on Thursdays, 10:00am-1:30pm. 

 

Location: The address of the client(s) you will be transporting will be shared with you the Wednesday before cultural orientation. Clients will need to be transported to our office space on Howe. The address of our office space is included below.

 

1111 Howe Avenue, Suite 200, Sacramento, California, 95825. 

 

Requirements: 

 

·      Strong intercultural communications skills, demonstrated ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds and across language barriers. 

·      Willingness to adhere to ODI’s volunteer and workplace policies 

·      Must have access to reliable transportation
