Opportunity Details | Salmon Stewards On-Line Volunteer Training
Opportunity Name:
Salmon Stewards On-Line Volunteer Training |
|
Description:
For more than two decades Salmon Stewards have been sharing knowledge about our beloved Pacific Northwest salmon with the Thurston community. In many ways Salmon Stewards are the heart and soul of Stream Team's legacy. This year, we are pleased to offer the 3-part training online, in hopes of improving accessibility!
This comprehensive course starts with a wide-lens view of salmon biology, covering the five types of Pacific Salmon. It ends by focusing on specific attributes of our local South Sound runs. Anyone is welcome to take the training, and it’s required for all docents. If you intend to become a docent, please register and mark your calendars for the three in-person field training sprinkled throughout this summer and fall, as these are also required.
The online training will be available this summer. Upon registration, you will receive full program details, including the course link once it becomes available.
