| Description:
The 2024 State Softball Tournament will be held Friday, September 6th through Sunday, September 8th at Jack C. Fisher Park In Owensboro KY.
Volunteers are needed to assist with the facilitation of the tournament. Review the volunteer roles below to select the best option for you!
Age Eligibility for Volunteers:
Volunteers serving independently must be at least 14 years of age. Those under 14 must be accompanied by an adult for the entirety of their service.
Those under the age of 12 years old will not be given a volunteer assignment but, are welcomed and encouraged to attend the event to serve as fans in the stands to cheer on athletes as long as they are accompanied by any adult.
Table Volunteer Roles: Indicate the role you would most prefer in the registration note.
Announcer- Requires comfort with using a microphone to make public announcements for the start a game, during, and at the conclusion of the game. Announcements include team line-up and scoreboard updates. A script is provided.
Scorebook Keeper- Requires previous experience with keeping a scorebook or comfort with doing so through knowledge of the sport.
Scoreboard Operator- Knowledge of the sport is helpful but, not required. Manage the scoreboard throughout the duration of the game to ensure it accurately represents the score of the game. Training will be provided onsite.
*Umpire- ASA, NSA, or USSSA certification is preferred but, not required. Previous experience as an Umpire is required.
Volunteers are asked to remain in their role for the entirety of the shift.
