Description:
Join Balmoral Ranger Harry and Head Ranger Glyn for a day of hands on practical environmental conservation to benefit twinflower!
You'll be helping clear spruce saplings from sites where twinflower grows. Twinflower is a distinctive plant with a slender Y-shaped stem, each side of which grows a pale pink bell-shaped flower. Mostly found in North East Scotland, the twinflower population has become critically scarce with numbers declining 44% since the 1970s. It has been identified as a conservation priority in the UK Biodiversity Action Plan, the Cairngorms Local Biodiversity Action Plan, and is included on the Scottish Biodiversity List.
