Flag Football Coaches/UPs Wanted! Wild West Delegation

The Wild West of Waconia is a delegation of 65+ athletes that is looking for more coaches for golf, bocce, soccer, flag football, and bowling. They practice in Waconia, Cologne, Watertown, Chaska.

 

Flag Football practice will be held every Thursday from August 1st to October 10th, 6PM - 7:30PM in Cologne. 

Football tournaments will be held Sat 9/7- Sun 9/8 and Sat 10/12- Sun 10/13.

 

All volunteers are required to complete Special Olympics Minnesota's Level 1 Training & a background check, which will be sent to you once you register! Please indicate that you would like to join the Wild West on the application. 

 

Ideally, you will be able to help for each session.

 

Coach Roles:

• Must be 8+ years old
• Must complete the Level 1 training and background check (18+)
• Must be great with people, respectful, understanding, energetic, able to delegate, and inclusive
• Receives detailed training from SOMN staff person
• Receives lesson plans for each session
• Prep and lead each class using training and lesson plans given by SOMN. Example: scheduling out what each class will look like prior. Day of, leading the class in warm-ups, setting up equipment/activities, leading cool downs.
• Flag football experience not necessary!

 

Extra Information:

Coaches should arrive 15 min prior to start of practice.

 

There will be a coach meeting before the first practice.

 

Coaches should bring water bottle to practices.  New coaches receive a Wild West shirt.
