2024 Move for Inclusion

Join us for the second annual Move for Inclusion, an event to raise funds and awareness for Special Olympics Minnesota and its mission to make communities more inclusive for people with intellectual disabilities.

 

Move for Inclusion is a 1.1 mile walk, run, or roll around Lake Cornelia in Edina, MN. The route begins and ends at the Rosland Park Shelter where we will have a DJ, food trucks, games and more! 

 

Date: Saturday, September 21

Where: Rosland Park - 4300 W 66th St. Edina, MN 55435

 

Things to Know:

Volunteers will be outside at the park and pathway (please dress accordingly). Volunteers will check-in at the pavilion and will be provided a maroon "Special Olympics Minnesota Volunteer" shirt. Water and Coffee will be provided for volunteers. Volunteers are welcome to utilize the food truck at the event for individual purchase.

 

Volunteer Position Descriptions

• Set Up:
  
  • Unpacking vehicles, hanging signage, setting up route markers, etc.
• Parking Attendants:
  
  • This position will be posted at the main parking lot directing cars and pointing participants in the direction of the pavilion/check-in.
• Registration:
  
  • Here you will check-in the participant and collect any day-of donations, working together with the incentives volunteers.
• Incentives:
  
  • Here you will work together with the registration volunteers, gathering the items based of the participants fundraising total.
• Education Stations:
  
  • This position will assist with the education of nutrition, hydration and sun safety. All material and training will be provided.
• Photographer:
  
  • Reach out to Kaylee at kaylee.shields@somn.org if interested.
• Cheering Stations:
  
  • We'll have volunteers posted along the route keeping the excitement going!
• Young Athletes:
  
  
  • Here you will assist with a few games and activities for young athletes. All material and training will be provided.
• Photobooth:
  
  • Here you will keep an eye on photo props and take photos for participants.
• Tear Down:
  
  • Assist in taking down signage, boxing up materials, and repacking vehicles.
