Opportunity Details

Objective is to support the City of Gaithersburg's SummerFest program which consists of live music, food, and activities, all leading up to a spectacular fireworks display and SummerGlo After Party. MCCERT is tasked with the following objectives:

Staff three first aid stations
Provide roving teams to monitor the crowd and direct resources to patrons needing assistance
Provide First Aid to attendees
Reunite missing children with parents

There will be on-site parking reserved for CERT. More information for those who register. To register, you must have completed CERT Basic and be in PIMS. If you have not completed 800 MHz training, you will be partnered with a more experienced CERT member.

Eat dinner beforehand. Bring snacks and hydration with you. You will not be able to return to your vehicle to restock during the event so plan on carrying your supplies with you. Note, there will be a large number of food trucks on site which you are welcome to patronize (time conditional of course). Shifts will rotate frequently to allow for cool-down time (indoors, with AC).
