Softball Refreshments, Bloomington

For this opportunity, volunteers will complete the following:

• *If you are not doing the first shift of the day, please plan to arrive 10 minutes early to receive brief instruction/status from the previous volunteer.
• Check in on your phone when you arrive. The refreshment table is next to the Snack Bar/Restroom building.
• You will find a box of Huntsman World Senior Games volunteer t-shirts in the room of the building containing the fruit supplies.  Please wear the shirt during your shift.  If you have multiple shifts, please take the shirt at the first shift and wear it on subsequent shifts.
• One volunteer will work at the fields during each shift
• Your main job is to keep the fruit bowls stocked at the refreshment table. All the extra fruit is stored in a room of the Snack Bar/Restroom building. 
• Table setup includes a tablecloth with three fruit bowls placed on top and a sign that says the fruit is for athletes only.
• Fruit may be loaded into the bowls from the boxes hidden under the table between each game and make sure the boxes below are stocked from the storage room. The bowls are filled with apples, oranges, and bananas. Refill as necessary (up to full but not overflowing). 
• When you are not filling the fruit, you are welcome to watch the games, but please check the table periodically.
• The director at this field, Sheena Cram, is also the scorekeeper so the volunteer will provide customer service to the athletes, pointing them to the restrooms or correct field, or other simple questions. Difficult questions will be handled by the field director between plays or innings.
• For the last shift of the day, please store the bowls, fruit, and tablecloth in the fruit storage room at the end of the day.
• Please plan to update each shift volunteer as you leave and someone else comes on.
• Please plan to contact the event organizer if you have questions.  This contact information is in your confirmation email.
• We encourage you to sign up for more than one shift. Sign up with a friend!

*Please be aware that the field schedules will not be finalized until about a week before the Games start. As such, it is possible that there will be a day or two that the ending time may be moved to earlier, and in that case, the last shift of the day may be eliminated or shortened. Once we know that for sure, if you have signed up for one of those days, you will be notified.
