Refreshment Delivery to Sports, Dixie Center

We're seeking enthusiastic volunteers to kickstart our mornings with a burst of energy and freshness. As the sun rises, we gather to distribute apples, oranges, bananas, and ice to athletic venues. 

 

Your role? As a volunteer, you will arrive to load your vehicles with boxes of fruit and bags of ice and distribute to assigned venues for drop off.  Other volunteers will then complete the setup.  In the afternoon shift, volunteers will help to organize fruit for morning distribution.  No driving will be involved in the afternoon.

Requirements. 

 

Fruit Pickup and Distribution.  Volunteer(s) must have a vehicle that will have available transport space for a minimum of three boxes of fruit and 2-3 bags or blocks of ice.  Pickup trucks or large cargo areas in vehicles are especially helpful. Volunteers that can deliver to multiple venues is very helpful but not required.  Volunteer must be able to lift up to 40 lb boxes of fruit.  Volunteers will report at 6:30 am to the NE corner of the Dixie Convention Center (garage area) to pick up fruit and addresses for distribution to various venues.  The product will be dropped off.  Other volunteers are in charge of setting up.  Wagons will be provided to take fruit from vehicle into venue.  Gas money can be provided.

 

Fruit Setup for Distribution.  This afternoon shift will take place in the NE corner of the Dixie Convention Center (garage area).  Volunteers will arrive and breakdown the bulk shipment of fruit into a staging area with venues that will be served the following morning.  Some lifting will be involved in taking fruit from the bulk shipment and distributing to tables.  The distance is within 10-20 feet.  Carts and wagons are available.
