Description:
Workshop description: Learn how to develop a wildlife-friendly garden by incorporating native plants and other pollinator-friendly flora. We will meet at the pollinator gardens at the Oregon Food Bank where you will discover easy ways to include wildlife shelter, protection, nesting areas, food and water sources in a garden plan.
What to expect and bring: This workshop is outdoors.
Please bring:
Please plan to arrive 15 minutes early to park and sign in, so that we can get started on time.
Enter at the gravel drive along the white wooden fence on NE 33rd Drive (do not enter the paved parking lot for the Food Bank building.) There is ample parking in the gravel lot by the gardens.
Access to site is via Metro Buses #17 and #70.
The Pollinator Garden is within 50 feet of the gravel parking area. No ADA accessible paths. Walking during the workshop will be not more than a block or two. The property is basically flat but somewhat uneven and may be muddy in spots.
Participants generally stand and move through the garden. There is limited seating (5 gallon buckets, and a picnic table nearby) if needed.
Port-a-Potty available, not ADA accessible.
Instructor: Corinne Thomas-Kersting, Eddie Rosen and Cheryl Brock, OSU Extension Master Gardeners
