Opportunity Details | Distinguishing bumblebees with white tails - online
Opportunity Name:
Distinguishing bumblebees with white tails - online |
|
Description:
Do you know your male White-tailed bumblebee from a male heath bumblebee? Or Broken-belted bumblebee from a Buff-tailed bumblebee?
Many of our common and uncommon social bumblebee species have white tails, and it can be tricky to distinguish between them - especially when it comes to mid-summer males appearing!
In this online training workshop, we'll look at telling apart some of the similar looking social bumblebees with white tails that can be found in the Cairngorms National Park (without separating the White-tailed bumblebee complex). Everyone is welcome, but some existing bumblebee identification knowledge would be advantageous for this course.
