Cycling: Hill Climb Race Support

 As a Cycling Hill Climb Race Support volunteer, you'll help create a memorable experience for our athletes. NOTE: There are two volunteer  opportunities with different meeting locations. Please arrive 15 minutes before your shift.

 

The Start Line Organizers meet at the sand dunes and the Finish line Organizers meet at the North Entrance . 

 

Start Line Organizers

Meeting Location: Sand Dunes Picnic Grounds, Snow Canyon State Park

• Welcome Athletes: Greet participants as they arrive, providing a warm and friendly atmosphere.
• Distribute Packets/Numbers: Hand out race packets and numbers to athletes, ensuring they have all necessary materials.
• Organize Time Sheets: Prepare and manage time sheets to ensure accurate race timing.
• Set Up Refreshments: Arrange water and snacks at the starting area to keep participants hydrated and energized.
• Line Up Racers: Assist in organizing racers at the start line, ensuring a smooth and orderly beginning to the race.
• Hold Bikes at Start: Help hold bikes for athletes at the start line to ensure they are ready to go.

Finish Line Organizer:

Meeting Location: Meet at the finish line location, which is the corner of Hwy 18 and Snow Canyon State Park North Entrance.

• Set Up Water Station: Prepare a water station at the finish line to provide refreshments to athletes as they complete the race.
• Watch Finish Line: Monitor the finish line to ensure a smooth process and to cheer on the athletes.
• Check Off Athlete Numbers: Record athlete numbers as they cross the finish line as a backup for timing.
