Pickleball, Little Valley Pickleball Complex

Volunteers in pickleball are essential to the smooth operation and growth of the sport. They contribute their time and skills in various roles.  See the position descriptions below and then sign up for shifts.  Your dedication helps foster a welcoming environment, ensures events run efficiently, and encourages participation at all levels, making pickleball enjoyable for everyone involved.  We appreciate it if you can sign up for more than one shift letting your experience be a plus in multiple shifts.  PLEASE PLAN TO ARRIVE 15 MINUTES BEFORE YOUR SHIFT TO RECEIVE TRAINING.

 

Responsibilities:

Checkin:  Check people into the event including a verification of their Games Checkin and handing out any necessary items as needed.

 Court Maintenance:  Repair courts, measure and ensure net height is correct, and cleanup areas as needed.

 Court Monitor:  Watch the courts to ensure players who are playing should be there. Answer questions from players, look for matches that may require an official due to issues on the court.

Court Setup:  Help with setting up all news, dividers, and taping lines as needed.

Court Takedown:  Help take down courts as the event is coming to an end and after it has completed.

Refreshments: Researching, scheduling, setting up, and taking down the food and drinks provided at the event.

General Helper:  An overall helper wherever needed.

Medal Podium:  Coordinate with the score table to get medals, make sure correct people have medals, and take photos.

Parking:  Direct traffic and parking for the event. Monitor activity in the parking lot to ensure a safe environment.

Score Table:  Enter scores as they come in, distribute new matches to players, and give medals to Medal Podium Volunteers.
