Description:

The Westside Community Center 2024 Lead Gardener Volunteer will support the WCC Community Garden, community gardeners, and WCC staff in the following ways: 

  • recruit garden members
  • share and implement rules and regulations 
  • decide and implement garden repairs (with approval and help from WCC staff)
  • take monthly inventory of garden supplies (hoses, spray nozzles, tools, etc.)
  • create monthly shopping list (approved by WCC staff)
  • aid with scheduling and organizing community, educational classes to help support garden vision (with guidance from WCC staff)
  • oversee compost schedule
  • communicate with current gardeners via email, phone, etc. 
  • organize routine weed control
  • seek community support - volunteer hours, donations (monetary, supplies, etc.)
  • other duties as agreed upon between Lead Volunteer and WCC staff
